I founded Great Lakes Cleaning in 1986 after the birth of my 4th child. Cleaning homes allowed me to contribute to the family’s finances without relying on daycare. In the beginning, I took care of the children of clients while cleaning their homes. For many families, the offer to watch the kids gave them the financial flexibility to afford professional housecleaning services. Eventually, two of my clients asked me to clean their offices.
From there, the business grew so much that my husband, Jerry, left his job as vice president of Great Lakes Controls to help run the cleaning company.
Today, some of those original clients are still with Great Lakes Cleaning. And most of our newer clients have found us through referrals from our long-time customers.
My two sons, Nick and Greg, have also joined our management team.
Great Lakes Cleaning remains small enough to personally know each client and help them resolve any concerns. At the same time, we’re large enough to tackle tough cleaning jobs. Customer satisfaction has always been – and always will be – our top priority.
